Mission studies

Every year, a number of Pre-Phase A studies of space missions are carried out by students of the Space Systems course at UniPi’s MSc in Space Engineering. Recent studies include scientific missions (astronomy, space sciences); interplanetary exploration; new-space commercial ventures (asteroid mining,  in-orbit servicing); multi-satellite constellations (Internet-of-Things, global connectivity). The studies are made in accordance with the standard practice for the feasibility assessment of a space mission concept (ESA, ECSS and concurrent design techniques). At the end of the study, students present their work in a public seminar. Student teams are guided and advised by staff of the Space Laboratory.
